Sitting in the east of England at Christmas 2025, I find myself wondering whether a life like mine is worth writing down at all. Friends insist it is—interesting, even—but interest is a slippery thing when you’re the one who lived it. Without the usual anchors of children or an early mortgage, my life took a different shape: fewer roots, fewer constraints, and more room to follow whatever curiosity or opportunity appeared next.
